Chi Ma Wan UPDATED FERRY SCHEDULE LOCATED AT: http://www.nwff.com.hk/eng/fare_table/central-mui_wo/
is located on South Lantau Island and is quite easy to get to. If taking the ferry from Central please check ferry schedule what time cargo ferry leaves to take your bike. Saturday cargo ferry is usually 6:10am, 6:50am, 8:30am. On Sunday morning usually 7am and 9am for cargo ferry (55 min trip). To save time from biking over the hill you can catch the Inter Island ferry heading to Chi Ma Wan correctional Institute. The 6:50 or 7am (Sat or Sun) ferry arrives 7:50 to 7:55am in Mui Wo and you can catch immediately a 8am ferry (inter-island ferry) going direct to Chi Ma Wan pier behind the Correctional Institute. Then a 5 min bike ride up to Shap Long Kau Tsuen main country park entrance. Or from Mui Wo (Silvermine Bay) you can bike on South Lantau Rd over the hill (10 minutes up & 5 min down) to Pui O. Or you can take the bus from Tung Chung heading Mui Wo direction and get off in Pui O at the intersection of Chi Ma Wan Road & South Lantau Road. When you follow Chi Ma Wan Rd the beach is only 500m straight ahead, but don't go this way as the road vears left and will go for 2 km passing thru Ham Tin Village hugging a river bank until you get to the other end of Pui O beach. Keep following Chi Ma Wan Road for another 700-800 meters up a short steep hill and at the top (Shap Long Kau Tsuen) you will see the Chi Ma Wan Country Park wooden arch entrance for the mountain bike race Oct 19, 2008. Lantau vans can also be rented for bike races which is what many do from Tung Chung.
