Hong Kong’s season opener with the challenging Lantau Peak (934m) followed by Sunset Peak (800m+) that are HK’s 2nd and 3rd highest peaks. Add the high temperatures 25-33c, a great summer goal to see how your fitness level is at beginning of the HK trail season. Not a walk in the park as make sure you train properly.

The 50km & 24km start at the Peak, follow the undulating HK trail until Wong Nai Chung Gap where the 24km finishes and the 50km does an extended loop in Tai Tam Country Park with some nice hills to add to the scenery in last sections. The 6km a new category starts and finishes at Wong Nai Chung Gap where the other 2 distances finish.

The classic Island Hike & Run with start at the lovely Green Lane Park reservoir, then into Tai Tam Country Park with longer category getting a taste of the steep TWINS while the middle distance runners take the short cut direct to Tai Fung Au (Quarry Bay Gap) with both 23km & 15km hiking over Mt Butler, Jardine Lookout before joining the 6km category who just go over Violet Hill and head to finish on easier family route.

Starting in Tung Chung at sunrise, participants hike up Ngong Ping 360 route to Nei Lek Shan before the 50km heads out on the Keung Shan ridgeline towards Fan Lau direction doing a loop taking in ocean views and heading towards Shek Pik Trail before climbing 2 monster climbs Lantau Peak (934m) and Sunset Peak (800m+) before contouring to Pak Mong and Tung Chung. Don’t attempt the 50 unless you have trained.

Watch the sunrise on Hong Kong’s tallest mountain Tai Mo Shan before sweeping down the mountain bike trails in Tai Lam country park taking more single track back up RT Twisk and Tai Mo Shan Road before hiking half way up Tai Mo Shan again with a sweeping trail run down to Shing Mun finish in the 54km route which is one of the more runnable 50s we organize.
