2026 – Lantau 2 Peaks

Lantau 2 peaks

About This Event

Hong Kong’s season opener with the challenging Lantau Peak (934m) followed by Sunset Peak (800m+) that are HK’s 2nd and 3rd highest peaks. Add the high temperatures 25-33c, a great summer goal to see how your fitness level is at beginning of the HK trail season. Not a walk in the park as make sure you train properly.

What’s NOT included

note

Poles have been banned in Lantau 2 Peaks for many years and will review this for 2026 edition as we know poles are better now and many offering pole courses on how to use correctly. We just don’t want anyone in first uphill section (or anywhere) stabbed in face by person in front of them who doesn’t know how to use. More coming on this.

No animals allowed with participants on course.

Showers & Toilets are available on a 1st come 1st serve at finish line. Please be considerate and fast as many want to use.

Plenty of restaurants at Citygate shopping centre next door to event.

Accommodation

Novotel Hotel Tung Chung is closest but as time to catch MTR can also stay near different MTR stations.

Category distances: 24 km & 15 km

Two categories that both need training especially the full Lantau 2 Peaks as definatly one of Asia’s hardest 24km as more Skyrunning than trail running. It’s very tough due to heat in October so train well for this over the summer.

24 km category : solo and teams of 4 mixed - cut off 8 hrs

15 km category: – solo - cut off 5 hrs
