2026 – Mongolia Action Asia 3 Day Ultra Marathon — 26–28 Jun 2026

Land of the Nomads. Running in the Steppes on the edge of Siberia for a true nomadic experience.

About This Event

Join us for a truly unforgettable foray into the remote backcountry as the official  Action Asia Mongolia ultra marathon stage race returns for an epic 3-day endurance challenge across the breath taking nomadic wilderness. This vast land encompasses a fabulous array of pristine landscapes and resilient nomadic people whose traditional daily lives remain, in many ways, completely unchanged since the historical days of Genghis Khan and the mighty Mongol Empire.

Situated dynamically between Russia and China, this remote region is a pure nature lover’s paradise and the ultimate destination for an extreme multi-day endurance challenge. Runners will experience a raw and authentic adventure through wide-open grasslands, rolling hills, and rugged terrains that make this one of the most unique trail events in the world.”

What’s NOT included

note

FOOD AT CAMP – Meals are typical Mongolia fried noodle with meat / patatoes or rice meat / vegetarian options. Everyone quite happy previously with food choices as we always hire extra experienced cooks for group. Hot water will be available.

Showers & Toilets are at camp. But don’t expect too much from the shower facility. Only 1 electric socket in “some” gers and wasn’t working last time so expect the worse. Two hole round plug so bring adapter. Leave your computers at home.

Telephone reception terrible. Better so you can socialize and not do business. It is possible to purchase phone cards in UB, Mongolia.

Since 1998 we have treated certain adventure race events and our 3 day ultra events since 2009 as a real adventure and try not to disclose location and maps until night before as we want people to experience what it feels like to be in the ‘unknown’ to expect the unexpected and not know what is around the corner. Life gets quite boring when you know everything and can plan ahead studying the 1 day events we organize as example, benefiting the more experienced elites if anything. For this reason we try to at least organize some real raw adventure events every year like our 3 day ultra marathons where you get on a bus from the main city, head out into a camp in the middle of no where, get the maps of next days course, socialize and go to bed. The course is heavily marked with ribbons and signs every 20meters with plenty of marshals to make it enjoyable. If you don’t like this past Action Asia tradition, then we have the 1 day events for you where all is displayed under the course pages. The feedback is always great and if you have recommendations then please email, but we are quite sure you will love the adventure.

SNEAK PREVIEW from our youtube:

Mongolia 3 day stage race distances & elevation
